My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the last week to 10 days I have been receiving a lot of requests from and for people who need prayers particularly for their families and for those very close to them. It appears that the strain of social distancing maybe starting to impact people in a negative way. Some individuals are faced with family health problems that they cannot address personally, others deal with loss, some are disappointed that major life events will have to be celebrated in different ways. Life is not what it was a few months ago but for the safety of the common good it appears we must stay the course we are on now for the weeks ahead. It is with these very needs and concerns in mind I offer this prayer today.
Dear Heavenly Father, the times we live in are creating a great weight on our hearts, minds, and souls. It feels as though many of those things we once counted on and we were able to predict have suddenly become uncertain. This uncertainty is in turn creating stress, sadness, and fear. The weight of these emotions, often times, causes us to feel very isolated and alone. So heavenly Father, we turn to you — for you are our only answer and our only hope. We know that you hear and answer these prayers in your most intimate and loving way.
Through your grace may we gain strength;
Through patience may we come to learn that in time all things come to pass;
and through steadfast faith learn that you make things right in in the end.
We lift to you all of our prayers and concerns believing they will answered according to Your most holy will for the benefit of all. We make this our prayer, through Christ our Lord. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
