Thursday of the Seventh Week of Easter

The peace of the Lord be with you. The readings from John’s Gospel the last couple of days emphasize the unity between God the Father and God the Son. These scriptures remind us that Jesus has existed before the dawn of time — not just when he made his appearance on earth.

Through our baptism, we too are part of this holy, eternal union — and through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we are to spread this message of unity to others by way of our actions, our words, our hope, our charity, and our love. This is the heart of our varied vocations to remind others that God seeks us out and longs for us to accept His invitation to join together at the family table. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
